High in the hills of Rwanda, Ruli coffee is grown by more than 800 smallholder farmers who bring their freshly picked coffee cherries to the Ruli washing station.

The station is part of the Dukunde Kawa Musasa cooperative and sits around 2,000 metres above sea level, surrounded by the steep green valleys of the Gakenke district. Coffee grown here benefits from the high altitude and careful attention given to every crop, from picking through to washing and drying.

We roast Ruli here in Lochaber to a medium roast, bringing out its natural sweetness and juicy character, with notes of grilled pineapple, toffee and rich fruit.
